Privacy policy

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 (through the Google Site Kit plugin) because, as a grant project, we must report how many people visit, which pages are most read, in which languages, on what kind of device and, broadly, from where (country, city). We cannot see who you are and do not combine this with any other data.

  • Only with your consent. Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are set only after you press “Accept” in the banner. If you chose “Essential only”, or have not answered yet, no cookies are set.
  • Without consent your browser may still send Google anonymous signals with no cookies and no identifiers (Google Consent Mode). Google uses them only to estimate overall visit numbers; they cannot be linked to you.
  • Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The data is processed by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, including in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Analytics data is kept for 14 months, a setting in Google Analytics.

You can change your choice at any time:

Your location

The “Near me” button on the map asks for your location only when you press it. The coordinates are used only on your phone — to show you on the map and work out distances to the points — and are never sent anywhere or stored.

What is kept on your device

So that the site works without a signal on the trail, your browser keeps copies of pages, the map, photos and — if you chose to — the audio guide. A few settings are kept as well: your language (knyazi_lang, a cookie, one year), dark or light theme, text size, your cookie choice, whether to show the offer to install the app, and whether to show service points on the map. All of this stays in your browser, is never sent to us, and can be erased in your browser settings (site data).

Other services

  • Our host keeps technical server logs — IP address, time, page address, browser type — for security and troubleshooting, for one month.
  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) and the 360° panorama viewer (cdn.jsdelivr.net) are loaded from those services’ servers, which, like any web server, see your IP address.
  • Links to Google Maps, bus tickets and the like take you to other sites only when you press them; their own rules apply there.

We do not sell data, show no advertising and use no data for advertising.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data about you is processed, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time — by changing your cookie choice above.

Changes

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top.
